The event, hosted by KRIS 6 News Anchor and CASA Board Member Paulo Salazar, began with a proclamation read by Mayor Paulette Guajardo. Community partners, including local child welfare agencies, shared their services they provide for children and families as well as opportunities for the public to get involved to support their programs. For over 21 years, the Nueces Child Welfare Foundation Inc, a 501(c) (3) organization, has supported and advocated for Nueces County children in foster care. They provide services, financial support, and networking tools for children in the care of the Department of Family and Protective Services.
