CASA Volunteer Christina West

April 20, 2020

”  My goal as a CASA is to be a constant presence in the lives of children who experience so much change and uncertainty. I hope that in the future all the children I have built relationships with look back on their experience with CASA and know they always had someone who cared for them and fought for what was best for them, that they were not alone. ” – Christina West, CASA of the Coastal Bend Volunteer

Christina West completed her initial CASA training and was sworn In as a CASA Child Advocate on 9 October 2018. The next day, she accepted appointment to her first case – a Human Trafficking case involving three children (ages 3, 4, and 8). After 18 months, she is still the Guardian Ad Litem to two of those children – the oldest has found permanency with his father and Paternal Grandmother. Christina is totally devoted to finding permanency for the two younger children; and is working closely with the CPS Caseworker and the children’s Attorney Ad Litem, to ensure that this goal becomes a reality. From the beginning, she has generously given of herself and her time – to ensure that these children know she is someone who cares about them and their future, that she will always be there for them, and that she will never give up on them.
