CASA of the Coastal Bend is seeking a visionary and growth oriented Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to architect the future of advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect in Nueces and Aransas counties. The CEO leads with purpose, serving as the primary strategist and external face of the organization, partnering with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders so every child has a powerful voice in court and the opportunity to thrive in a safe, permanent home.

About CASA of the Coastal Bend
CASA volunteers have spoken up for the best interests of children in foster care, ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported throughout their child welfare journey. CASA of the Coastal Bend trains, equips, and mentors volunteers who provide critical advocacy to courts, attorneys, and child-serving partners — shaping outcomes and creating brighter futures.
Who We’re Looking For
The Chief Executive Officer will be a dynamic executive leader who builds trust, drives organizational performance, and advances the mission through strong financial stewardship, strategic partnerships, and scalable volunteer engagement. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for setting strategic direction, overseeing operations, and ensuring the organization’s long-term sustainability and impact.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or greater from an accredited institution in a related field (e.g., social work, public administration, nonprofit management, business administration, psychology, sociology, education, criminal justice, law, human services, or communications) combined with relevant experience
- Minimum three years of management experience with emphasis on fiscal policies, grant management, and fund accounting
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals, families, children, and volunteers from all backgrounds
- Strong skills in financial management, strategic planning, resource development, and organizational leadership
- Technological proficiency in databases, Microsoft products, financial management tools, and presentation software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and foster respectful relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with volunteer boards and committees
- Ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate budgets
- Ability to lead, manage, and develop people
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, plan, and implement initiatives that further organizational goals
Preferred Qualifications
The strongest applicants will bring the following:
- Minimum five years of executive management experience with a heavy emphasis on strategic planning, major gift solicitation, and diversified revenue generation.
- Proven success in closing major gifts ($10,000+) and developing corporate or foundation partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to scale volunteer programs and recruitment pipelines to meet growing community demand.
- Strong skills in financial architecture and stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term sustainability planning; leveraging data for strategic decision-making; and organizational leadership.
- Ability to work effectively with volunteer boards to transition from operational to strategic governance.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement high-level initiatives that strive to achieve 100% service coverage for children in need.
